William L Caton III, M.D.
Neurological Surgeon

I have been actively practicing neurological surgery in Pasadena, Ca for over 30 years. I have devoted myself to the skillful and compassionate care of my patients. My efforts are to treat patients with conservative options.  I make every effort to improve my patient’s health without surgery.  However, if a patient is in need of surgery I carry out the surgical procedures in a skillful and thoughtful fashion.  I have had the privilege to care for many patients throughout years and as a result I have gained significant experience in many complicated neurosurgical problems and procedures. I have been fortunate to have gained the respect of my patients and my physician peers.

In view of my hard work ethic and dedication to my patients I have performed over 7000 spinal procedures and over 3000 intracranial procedures on my patients.  This experience has allowed me to make sound and thoughtful clinical decisions in my patients best interest and to have achieve good outcomes for my patients.  These procedures include spinal procedures on the neck (cervical), midback (thoracic) and low back (lumbosacral).  The procedures include laminectomies, microdiscetomies, and minimally invasive spinal procedures.  I also frequently carry our comlex spinal procedures with approaches to the anterior and posterior spinal canal including spinal fusions and placement of complex spinal instrumentation.   These procedures are performed for the treatment of degenerative, traumatic, infectious and tumor diseases.  The intracranial procedures I frequently perform are for tumor, vascular diseases, traumatic, arachnoid cyst, hydrocephalus and other intracranial problems.

I am Board Certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons since 1981.  I have been able to keep my neurosurgical skills updated and incorporate the state of art neurosurgical techniques in my practice of medicine.

I have had the opportunity to be the chairman of the department of neurological surgery at Huntington Memorial Hospital for over 20 years.  My neurosurgical peers have honored me to serve as the president of the California Association of Neurological Surgeons in 2009-2010.  My patients and my physician peers have consistently voted me into the, “Best Doctors in America”
